The idea of a prefabricated modular structure, capable of being assembled within 8 hours is striking, because of the potential in terms of its commercial value, but more so for its wide appealling application for the humanitarian ideal. Half the world’s population will enjoy the benefits of an affordable mobile home, easily personalised or customised to suit one’s economic or social requirements.
The Tecnopod Story has been well documented in the publication “Transportable Environments 2001” proceedings of the 2nd Conference on Portable Architecture 17th/18th May 2001 in Singapore. More recently the tecnopod has been featured in Financial Times UK January issue now also to be featured in an upcoming New Straits Times Malaysia article.
